Remember how famous those old Casio keyboards were a few decades ago? They’re back again, at least on your computer.
Electronic Piano is a computer program that simulates one of those electronic musical keyboards, with each keystroke producing a different tone. This software app, like the original instrument, embraces a wide variety of sound types, allowing you to imitate almost everything from a piano to a guitar, as well as trumpet, bass, organ, harmonica, violin, cello, and several other instruments.
Of note, there’s even a section for special effects (typewriter, airplane, applause, gunshot, and so on) and then the drums, which provide a much broader range of sounds.
The app is very user-friendly, since it shows the note map on the interface so you still know what you’re playing. On the downside, the keyboard seems to respond slower than intended, making the overall experience a little frustrating. Also, I noticed one note was out of tune, something I would not expect from a music program, even though it isn’t a technical instrument.
